Spacious One Bdr. Apt. with Balcony in Historic and Charming Fredrikstad, Norway

This 55 m² apartment is located close to the city center, while also being very near to the park/forest (with plenty of well-marked trails) and a swimming dam. It is a one bedroom, self-catering apartment with a private balcony, on the second floor of a house split into two apartments (the owners live in the apartment below). There is also a single bed in the living room and an additional guest bed can be added if requested when booking. There is a shared washing machine in the basement (soap, drying rack and iron / ironing board provided in your apartment). The apartment is good for couples, business travelers, and families. It is close to shops, the town center and good bus links. A highchair, travel crib and toddler tub are available (free), please request when booking. There is no cleaning fee. Fredrikstad and the coastal area of Hvaler are beautiful and historic as well as also being close to other tourist destinations such as Oslo and Sweden. It has a quaint, separate kitchen (no dishwasher but all the other amenities), spacious living room with internet access, TV with Blu-ray player, Chromecast, Tivoli radio with AUX, treadmill and foosball table. There is also a small collection of board games, books and DVDs. There is a single bed and a guest bed that can be used in the living room (Please note that the guest bed may be more comfortable for kids than adults). The bedroom has a king size bed that can be made into two singles (please request two singles when booking). The bathroom has plenty of hot water (shower but no bathtub). Linens and towels are provided. Toddler bathtub available upon request. There is no additional cleaning fee and the apartment is cleaned before your arrival and after you leave. However, we kindly ask that you wash any dishes you use before your departure. Please note that there is no housekeeping service during your stay. The house has a shared front door /entrance hall and the apt. is the entire 2nd floor (the owners live in the apt. on the first floor). We should mention for guests with severe allergies that there are two cats living in the apartment on the first floor. There has never been any pets allowed in the apartment for the guests but the cats do use the shared hallway to exit via the cat door in the basement (where the washing machine is located). There is a shared washing machine (soap provided) in the basement. There is guest parking in the shared driveway and a shared EV charger. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the town center (25-30 walk to the train station) and less than 30 minute's drive to several lovely beaches and the Swedish border. It is about a 10 minute's walk to our local forest with plenty of hiking/biking/skiing trails and a swimming dam. There are guidebooks in the apartment. It is a two minute walk to the bus stop and a shopping center with a grocery store, hairdresser and pharmacy. It is about a 20 minute walk to the center of Fredrikstad (less than 5 minutes to drive) and less than a 10 minute drive to the historic Old Town (Gamlebyen). The train station is about a 25-30 minute walk away.
